World selection of gems glitter at Tehran’s Azadi Tower
TEHRAN, Jan. 3 (MNA) -- An incomparable world-wide selection of valuable gems and precious stones is now on display at Tehran’s Azadi Tower.
Over 300 types of ornamental stones and gems like diamonds, rubies, emeralds, amber, turquoise, and agate are sparkling and glittering in an exhibition arranged by private collector Nader Sanani.
The 67-year-old collector has been collecting the gems and stones since his adulthood. “My interest in stones came the day when a friend handed me a piece of amethyst when I was a young boy. Since then, I have been gathering thousands of types of different stones in my private collection,” he said.
“I believe all stones are like gems and are valuable. They show part of the glory of God. There are thousand types of stones in the world which still remain unknown to mankind.
Sanani has visited over 50 international exhibits to collect more information about different kinds of gems and stones, explaining, “My interest in stones increases more and more with each passing day, and I learn more about the wisdom of God by studying the energy hidden within in the stones and the benefits each one bears.
“Most of the displayed gems and stones in this exhibit come from European countries and countries from the Middle East, and each one bears a story inside.
The gem-studded birthday cake in one of the windows draws the attention of every visitor, “over 300 different types of precious and semi-precious stones were used to make this cake.”
On sale in another part of the exhibit lies an assortment of rings, bracelets, and necklaces decorated with gems and stones both for men and women.
The exhibit has been warmly received since its opening on December 17, and it is said that the collection is due to remain on display for five years as a museum in Azadi Tower.
