Body of one of two railwaymen buried by snow found in Sakhalin.

YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, January 3 (Itar-Tass) - The body of one of two
railwaymen, buried by an avalanche during repair work at a section where another avalanche dashed from rail tracks a diesel loco and a snowplough, was found in Sakhalin, Itar-Tass learnt on Sunday at the press service of the Sakhalin branch of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies.

Rescuers spotted the body of railway foreman Alexander Sangi with the
use of a sniff dog, while the search for the second railwayman continues.
Foul weather aggravates the operation. Rail traffic along the Sakhalin
Railway has been suspended. Rescuers of the Sakhalin search and rescue
detachment and workers of the Sakhalin Railway are working at the place of
the incident.
The avalanche dashed the diesel loco and the snowplough from rail
tracks on Thursday morning; there were no casualties at the time. A
lengthy section of the railway, linking the south and the north of the
island was buried under a three-metre snowdrift. Two special trains were
dispatched from various stations to clear rail tracks from snow.
But new avalanches swooped down on railwaymen during the restoration
work on the New Year night. Three people turned to be under snow. One of
them was found live several hours later.
