MALAYSIA TO HOST INTERNATIONAL SERVICES SUMMIT

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 7 (Bernama) -- The first Malaysian International Services
Summit will be held in Kuala Lumpur on Jan 12 to examine the challenges and
opportunities facing the services sector.

Organised by the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry
(MICCI) and Coalition Service Industries Malaysia, the one-day summit will,
among others, discuss opportunities for trade and services for companies in
Malaysia, maximising the contribution of trade in services to economic growth
and tapping the full potential of the services sector by 2020.

Chamber President Charles Ireland said the summit will also chart a road-map
and identify potential and creative ideas to establish a fully developed
services sector.

" About 250 participants, comprising key stakeholders in the sector, will
sit together and brain storm for the betterment of the services sector and the
nation," he told reporters here Wednesday.

Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister Mukhriz Mahathir
is expected to present a keynote address at the summit.
