Nursultan Nazarbayev congratulated on Orthodox Christmas

Astana, January 07, 2010 (Khabar) - The head of state Nursultan Nazarbayev has congratulated Kazakhstan’s residents on the occasion of Orthodox Christmas. In his speech, the President stated that residents of the country treat all religions equally. The Russian Orthodox Church makes a significant contribution towards the strengthening of peace and accord, the development of dialogue between the state and religious associations and actively participates in the Congresses of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. Nursultan Nazarbayev says “In a few days the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Kirill will visit Kazakhstan on my invitation. I am sure it will be a landmark event in the life of our country.
Christmas is time of charity and mercy, let this day give Kazakhstanis warmth of love and friendship, light of high spirituality”, says Kazakhstan’s President, ending his greeting with wishes for health, peace and prosperity.
