Iran's industry minister in Turkey

TEHRAN, Jan. 7 (MNA) – Iranian Industries and Mines Minister Ali-Akbar Mehrabian, heading a delegation, will meet his Turkish counterpart today on a two-day travel to Turkey.

Enhancing industrial and mine cooperation, especially in the field of establishing industrial parks and car manufacturing is the main goal of the trip.

Mehrabian will discuss mutual issues with high-ranking Turkish officials during his stay.


The value of non-oil goods traded between Tehran and Ankara hit 2.7 billion in the past year.


The main products exported to Turkey from Iran included polymers, propylene, poly-ethylene, cathodes and copper cathode parts, leather, pipes and connectors, petroleum products, carpets, home plastic products, bus and truck tires, machinery, metal structures, healthcare products, nuts, honey ,dates, tea, animal skin, and fruit, glass, as well as furniture.


Imported products from Turkey consist of textiles, machinery, steel products, acrylic products, various threads, chemicals and cork.


Public and private sector figures including several MPs, three deputy industry ministers for international affairs, small industries and industrial parks, and the industrial development and renovation organization, the IKCO director, as well as other Iranian industry managers accompany the minister.
