Russia to cancel import taxes on business planes - Nabiullina

MOSCOW, June 12 (Itar-Tass) -- The Russian government will cancel the import taxes on business planes.
"A decision has been made to cancel the tax on all planes seating less than 20 passengers," Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina said after Wednesday's meeting of the government commission on protectionist measures in foreign trade and customs and tariff policies. "We do not make such planes. The aim of the measure is to promote the development of business aviation and to have the planes registered here."
Also, the import tax has been lifted from flight simulators and
aircraft spare parts and components. This will make the air transport more effective and safer.
The commission also considered the possibility of allowing tax-exempt import of plasma and liquid crystal screens, but a final decision was not made.
"The issue has been postponed. We shall spend another ten days
contemplating the effects of such a measure," Nabiullina said.
