Rescuers to begin search for avalanche-trapped alpinists on Saturday

ROSTOV ON DON, January 9 (Itar-Tass) -- More tan 30 rescuers from
different regions in South Russia will begin a search on Saturday morning
for four alpinists missing after an avalanche in the mountains of
Kabardino-Balkaria.
The operation will involve rescuers from Kabardino-Balkaria,
Karachayevo-Cherkessia, Stavropol Territory, and North Ossetia. The team
will also include specialists with dog trained to find people under snow
and rubble. Rescuers from Stavropol will be brought by helicopter to be
sent from Rostov. The others will travel by road and then on foot.
The search is tentatively scheduled to begin at 08:00-10:00 Moscow
time on Saturday.
