Second Kazakh young people’s conference in Sweden

Vasteras, January 10, 2009, Khabar – The second youth conference of Kazak ex-pat communities in European countries has been held in the Swedish city of Vasteras. The idea of conducting such meetings belongs to Kazakh diplomats and representatives of Kazakh culture centres. According to the organizers, the aim of the conference is to introduce young people from the Kazakh diaspora to their national culture and traditions as well as to enhance scientific, business and cultural relations between Kazakh people in Europe and Kazakhstan. The retention of the Kazakh language and national identity, integrational development and cooperation in the area of science and education all topped the agenda. The dates of holding the next small national assemblies of Kazakh people were arranged as well. It was decided to conduct it in Vasteras this year. It is one specific place where ethnic Kazakhs reside.

- We are interested in building relations with modern and educated young Kazakh people from European countries. And it is certainly pleasant to see that they reach out to Kazakhstan and keep their historical homeland and their language in mind and try to stick to Kazakh people’s customs and traditions.
