Death toll of house fire in downtown Krasnoyarsk reaches 4 people.

KRASNOYARSK, January 11 (Itar-Tass) -- The death toll reached four
people in the fire that broke out in a two-storey wooden house with 18
flats in the central district of Krasnoyarsk, chief press officer of the
territorial emergencies department Alexander Yakimov told Itar-Tass.
"The fire alarm call came at 02.40 a.m. local time (10.40 p.m. Moscow
time) to a duty officer of the fire service. The first and second floors
of the house wing had been on fire, and the fire had spread on the roof by
the time the fire engines arrived. The fire area amounted to 100 square
meters. The firefighters evacuated ten people," Yakimov pointed out.
Thanks to the urgent actions the firemen prevented the fire from
spreading on the second wing of the apartment block and the adjacent
boiler house. Some 15 pieces of special machinery were involved in the
firefighting efforts. The investigation into the fire case is underway.
