World Bank president to visit Russia on June 16-17

Washington, June 13 (Itar-Tass) -- World Bank Group President Robert Zoellick will visit Russia on June 16-17. He is expected to meet with the Russian leadership, the World Bank press service reported.

Meanwhile, Zoellick is planning to sign a memorandum on mutual
understanding between the World Bank Group and the Russian Bank of
Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank).

The World Bank president will leave Russia for Kazakhstan, the World
Bank press service said in a press release. The Kazakh president and prime
minister will receive Zoellick. During his visit to Kazakhstan Zoellick
intends to go the Aral Sea and launch the second stage of a successful
project involving the World Bank to save the northern part of the Aral Sea.

Robert Zoellick will arrive in Russia from Japan. He will participate
in the next meeting of the G8 financiers in the Japanese city of Osaka.
