Iran and Algeria enjoy brotherly ties: Ahmadinejad

TEHRAN, Jan. 11 (MNA) – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said that the relationships between Tehran and Algiers are profound and brotherly.

“The brotherly ties between Iran and Algeria have created a great potential for the officials of the two countries to expand cooperation in different areas,” President Ahmadinejad made these comments in Tehran on Monday during a meeting with the new Algerian Ambassador to Iran.

Ahmadinejad pointed out that the membership of Iran in the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organization of the Islamic Conference is a good opportunity for Iran and Algeria and their cooperation can ensure the interests of the Islamic world.

The Algerian ambassador, for his part, stated that it is his duty to promote the relations between Tehran and Algiers to its highest level.

The new Qatari ambassador to Tehran also submitted his credentials to the Iranian President on Monday.

Ahmadinejad stated that Tehran and Doha have “distinguished ties” in the region.
