DEMBEREL CONGRATULATES PEOPLE ON OCCASION OF CONSTITUTION DAY
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ On the occasion of the Day of Constitution of Mongolia, parliamentary Speaker D.Demberel congratulated the Mongolian people on behalf of the State Great Khural (parliament) and on his own.
In his address, he said,"Since adoption of the first Constitution in 1924, Mongolia renewed its Constitution three times. The fourth Constitution was passed eighteen years ago--on January 13, 1992. Its key concept is an integral part of great heritages of Mongolian law, politics and social understanding that has 2,000 years of statehood traditions.
The new constitution welcomed the idea of reform that spread worldwide and is based on concept on developing the country in democratic path. In terms of it this Constitution was named as the democratic one. Under the concept of new Constitution, human rights and freedom are respected as dominant principle. We are adhering to a policy of developing legal state, parliamentary form and electoral democracy. Multi-pillar and open policy entirely determines appearance of Mongolia's international relations. Results of implementation of the Constitution is the development of legal reform. In compliance with new Constitution, outdated laws that coordinated economic, political and social relations have been changed. Thanks to economic reform policy, private sector is promoting and basic bank, financial and economic relations have been transferring to market form."
