Iran-Pakistan To Launch Joint Military Drill In Hormuz Strait

Tehran, April 6, IRNA – Naval forces of Iran and Pakistan are to launch a joint military exercise in eastern part of the Hormuz Strait on April 8, it was reported on Sunday. To this end, a Pakistani fleet docked at Bandar Abbas, capital city of Iranˈs Hormuzgan Province, on April 5, said the report by public relations department of Iranˈs Navy. The fleet, comprising a missile-launcher warship, a logistic warship and an advanced submarine, entered the Iranian waters carrying a message of peace and friendship. The military exercise is aimed at promoting military interaction between the two capitals. The Pakistani flotilla will stay in the Iranian territories for four days, Second-in-command for operations Rear Admiral Shahram Irani said. ˈThe most important program of the Pakistani fleet, during its stay in Bandar Abbas, is to launch joint maneuvers with selected units of Iranˈs Navy in eastern waters of the Hormuz Strait,ˈ he added./end
