New German Envoy To Dushanbe Calls For Broadening Ties With Iran

Tehran, Aug 14, IRNA – New German Ambassador to Dushanbe Hulger Green, in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Ali Asghar Shardoust, called for the expansion of ties with Iran. “We hope that the age-old relations between Iran and Germany in view of new elections in the two countries and taking new steps would witness new movements and developments,” the German envoy said. “In my previous mission in Bishkek as German ambassador to Kyrgyzstan in a visit to Samarqand I closely witnessed Iranian culture and art’s strong presence, especially Iranian-style miniatures in these cities and among Tajik people. The Iranian ambassador, for his part, said that Tajik, Dari or Persian languages are actually a single language and it has been the official language of government and administrative bodies of India for nearly 700 years before the Britons came to India./end
