South Hwanghae Province Creates Raw Material Bases

Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- South Hwanghae Province in the DPRK is striving to establish new raw material bases for normalizing the production at the new regional-industry factories to be built.
The non-permanent provincial committee for promoting Regional Development 20×10 Policy has set a scientific goal for each stage and enhanced the role of members of its relevant panels.
It organized a consultative meeting and a show on the creation of raw material bases and has taken measures to make effective use of mountains and sea in conformity with the regional features of all counties.
Pyoksong County directs efforts to expanding the raw material bases and improving the fertility of soil, while planting more than 50 000 oil-bearing crops and securing natural raw materials.
Unchon and Pongchon counties have planted various kinds of trees of high economic value, making successes in creation of forests for producing paper raw materials.
Haeju City and Chongdan County have secured new pieces land and rationally integrated the raw materials bases in consideration of cultivating conditions and conducted brisk dissemination of new sci-tech information among working people.
Ongjin County has taken scientific and technological measures to increase the per-hectare yield by selecting seeds and distributing crops properly, while pushing ahead with the work to secure various natural raw materials by making use of sea.
Officials and employees of the provincial people's committee, the provincial prospecting bureau and the Haeju Smeltery are devoting their patriotic efforts to laying material and technical foundations of raw materials bases. -0-
