President al-Assad receives cables of congratulation from leaders of Arab and foreign countries on the 78th anniversary of Independence

Damascus, SANA- On the occasion of the seventy-eighth anniversary of Evacuation Day, President Bashar al-Assad received congratulatory telegrams from leaders and presidents of Arab and foreign countries, with the leaders offering congratulations and wishes to the Syrians for progress and prosperity. 

In their cables, the leaders stressed their keenness to continue working to strengthen the existing cooperation between their countries and Syria. 

President al-Assad received the cables from the leaders of Russia, China, King of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman, Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, India, Indonesia, Serbia, Belarus, Tajikistan, Myanmar, Paraguay, Nicaragua, Mauritania and Vietnam. 

His Excellency also  received cables from the UN Secretary-General and the Pope of the Vatican. 

The head of the Supreme Political Council in Yemen and the Prime Ministers of Armenia and Lebanon also sent cables of congratulations to President al-Assad.
