The number of nations that interested in the Mongolian coal sector has been increasing day to day.
The “Coal Mongolia” International Conference and Exhibition for Coal Investors held on February 21-22 in Ulaanbaatar brought together Ambassadors and representatives of China, Russia, Canada, USA, Japan and Germany. They got familiarized with the state policy of Mongolia on the coal sector.
The Russian Federation has the wide cooperation with Mongolia in all spheres. Vital exits of both railway and marine transportation run across Russian territories, so the Russian side has pledged to help Mongolia to penetrate into the international trade entrance, and also expressed its willingness to become a primary export partner of Mongolia during the event.
The People’s Republic of China is also big partner of Mongolia in the mining sector. Mongolia exports 100 per cent of its coal to this country. The biggest mineral deposits of Mongolia are located near border of China, and it means that the coordination between consumption of minerals of the both countries and their market have fortified.
At the conference, the Chinese representative said that the coal trade between the countries is possible to expand and the countries will develop their mutually-beneficial cooperation if the infrastructure matter is tackled well.
During the conference, foreign representatives underlined that Mongolia should quickly solve its infrastructure although the Mongolian coal has high quality. There are many countries that are interested in buying Mongolian coal and collaborating in it.
