The eleventh "Saint Muse" international theatre festival for drama art named the best contestants on May 19.
This year's festival attracted creative workers of Mongolia, Egypt, Serbia, Tuva Republic of the Russian Federation and Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region of China. The judges' panel included Ms Elizabeth Hess from the International Theatre Institute (ITI); and Susanna Oorzhik, a producer from Tuva Republic, who is one of the top 10 young directors of Russia.
Some 80 artists for over 20 creative works in drama, children's, musical and monologue genres competed for the Saint Muse with nominations of the best actor, actress, the best supporting artist and actress, the best producer, composer and scene-designer.
One of the contestants from foreign countries, G.Navchinkhuar from Inner Mongolia won the Saint Muse for the best producer by competing with a drama named "Legend of Mongolian chess" in the musical genre, whereas the prize named after judges went to Uran Ool Dmitriyevich from Tuva Republic.
Held on occasion of the Day of Theatre, the annual Saint Muse festival is considered as one of the biggest events to contribute to a development of drama art not only in Mongolia, but also at a regional level. The first festival was attended by only Mongolian contestants, but now it has expanded out of the country.
