On Wednesday, the Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia D.Gankhuyag has presented a title of Cultural Honorary Envoy of Mongolia to S.Korean citizen Kim Kwang Shin.
Mr Kim has been working as a head of the Mongolian Cultural Town established over ten years ago in Namyangju city of South Korea. This cultural town has a 300-seat theatre of Mongolian arts, a 250-seat hall for Mongolian horse performance, and museum of Mongolian history, culture, nature and art. Since the year 1996, Mr Kim has been actively working for making ties between Namyangju and Ulaanbaatar cities. He is also a founder of scholarship programme for Mongolian students, and made it permanent, and initiated visits of cancer medical experts to Mongolia.
At the ceremony, The Vice Minister D.Gankhuyag congratulated Mr Kim, and underlined that an appointment of the cultural honorary envoy plays its role in implementing the foreign policy objectives of Mongolia and in advertizing Mongolia abroad. He asked the envoy to contribute more to the relations and cooperation between the two countries.
Mongolia and the Republic of Korea established their diplomatic relations in 1990, since then the two countries have been cooperating successfully in the fields of trade, economy, culture and education.
