President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today met with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Istanbul.

They hailed the successful development of Azerbaijan-US bilateral relations in a variety of fields, including the political and energy spheres.

They discussed the issues relating to the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. President Ilham Aliyev reaffirmed Azerbaijan's stance on the settlement of the dispute, and informed Rex Tillerson about Armenia's recent military provocation on the line of contact.

The head of state highlighted the works done under the implementation of the Southern Gas Corridor project.
