President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, held talks with U.S. business executives in Washington D.C. As part of the meeting, three intergovernmental documents were signed, including contracts on railway sector projects and on creation of an incubator for financial technologies. Nursultan Nazarbayev said that Kazakhstan has 11 special economic zones and 22 industrial zones. They provide all the necessary infrastructure and preferences. Nursultan Nazarbayev invited the US businesses to participate in Kazakh projects.
NURSULTAN NAZARBAYEV, PRESIDENT OF KAZAKHSTAN:
- This year a new international technology park for IT startups will open in our capital. All this could become a promising industry of cooperation. The AIFC participants are granted certain tax exemptions of up to 50 years as well as a simplified visa procedures, simplified currency and labor movement. The AIFC is the only center in the region which works based on the English law. The Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq American stock exchange are helping to create the AIFC’s high-tech stock exchange.
Nursultan Nazarbayev also met with Ray Washburn, President of Overseas Private Investment Corporation, as part of his visit to the U.S. The Kazakh head of state spoke about projects implemented in Kazakhstan and noted the importance of strengthening the investment cooperation. Ray Washburn shared his impressions on his visit to Astana EXPO 2017 and spoke about the upcoming conclusion of an agreement with Kazakh Invest.
NURSULTAN NAZARBAYEV, PRESIDENT OF KAZAKHSTAN:
- We are implementing a state program ‘Digital Kazakhstan’; we held an international specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017. Some of the expo facilities are used by the Astana International Financial Center that offers great incentives to its participants.
Nursultan Nazarbayev also met with U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry in Washington D.C. The Kazakh head of state told about the details of the agreements achieved during the talks with Donald Trump. The parties also discussed Kazakh projects in green energy. Nursultan Nazarbayev spoke about the prospects for Tengiz and Kashagan fields and focused on the need to build oil processing capacities in those. In addition, the Kazakh President informed Rick Perry about the opening of the Low-Enriched Uranium Bank in Kazakhstan.
