The media office of the head of the coalition stated: "Al-Maliki met in his office today, the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Bagheri, and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, they discussed the future of historical relations between Iraq and Iran, stressing the need to strengthen them to include various fields and for the mutual benefit of the two neighboring countries."
