Arab Agriculture Ministers Discuss Issues Of Agricultural Development And Arab Food Security
Baghdad / NINA /- The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States will hold a meeting today, Tuesday, for Arab agricultural ministers, to discuss a number of issues related to the issue of Arab food security and agricultural development in the Arab world.
Director General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, Ibrahim Al-Dakhiri, said in a press statement that the meeting will address cooperation frameworks in the files of agricultural development and food security at all levels, expressing his hope to achieve a new Arab alignment to push these two issues forward, in light of the current challenges that the Arab region is suffering from that require collective Arab action, including the scarcity of water resources in the Arab region, climate change, and global and regional economic and political turmoil.”
He added: “During the meeting, the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development will present a comprehensive framework paper on the issues at hand, and what the organization has done in the course of its work over the past fifty years regarding its dealings with the issues of agricultural development and food security.”/End
