Bahrain’s efforts to promote housing highlighted

New York, July 17 (BNA): Housing and Urban Planning Minister Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi today held a work meeting with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in the Republic of Portugal Francisco André and discussed joint cooperation in the fields of social housing and urban planning.

During the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of exchanging expertise and practises between the two countries.

The talks came on the sidelines of the meetings of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2023 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Al Romaihi highlighted the ministry’s plans to provide housing for citizens in partnership with the private sector, shedding light on the development of residential towns in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

She also pointed out the  steps to promote urban development and update  regulatory standards and requirements, to serve all sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Portuguese official commended Bahrain’s steady efforts to provide housing services and promote urban developments, stressing his country’s readiness to step up cooperation and exchange expertise.
