Bahrain participates in high-level climate finance roundtable

Rabat, Apr. 30 (BNA): Finance and National Economy Ministry's Undersecretary Yusuf Abdulla Humood participated in the High-Level Policy Roundtable Climate Finance to Achieve Sustainable Transformation, on the sidelines of the joint annual meetings of Arab financial institutions held in Rabat, Morocco.

The workshop was organised by the Arab Monetary Fund, Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the World Bank Group.

The workshop discussed identifying the most important financial and monetary policies used to face climate challenges, the role of governments in reducing climate challenges, and achieving an immediate response to confront them.

The workshop also touched upon the role of regional and international financial institutions in supporting Arab countries to confront climate change and achieve sustainability through optimal investment in clean energy technologies, and finding innovative solutions to provide companies and individuals with energy efficiency improvements to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The workshop discussed the development of strategies and solutions to manage climate risks and stressed the importance of cooperation in developing and implementing climate change mitigation and adaptation projects.
