BCCI chief affirms strength of Bahraini-British economic relations

Manama, Apr. 5 (BNA): Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC), Sameer Abdulla Nass, has affirmed that the United Kingdom is a reliable and strong trade and economic partner to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

He highlighted the solid long-standing relations between the two countries across various fields, as indicated by the volume of bilateral investments and trade, and the number of memoranda of understanding signed between them.

He added that the steadily-growing relations between the two friendly countries reflect their common and ambitious strategic visions.  

BCCI chief was speaking while receiving here today a delegation, led by UK Chief Negotiator at the UK-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Free Trade Agreement (FTA), Tom Wintle, in the presence of BCCI members.

Nass stressed Bahrain’s keenness to enhance aspects of economic cooperation with the UK in all fields.

He underlined the importance of strengthening joint cooperation to intensify efforts to attract British investments to Bahrain, noting that the increase in investments will reflect positively on the volume of bilateral trade exchange and tourism, given the distinguished level of relations between the two friendly countries.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed practical initiatives that may strengthen bilateral trade relations and increase joint investments.

They also explored the available trade and investment opportunities in the industries based on emerging technology, financial services, real estate sector and other key sectors.
