‘Smart Online SMEs’ vies to win WSIS Prize 2016

BANGKOK, April 14 (TNA) -- The ‘Smart Online SMEs (SOS) by Thaitrade.com’, one of the five international projects, will compete for the first prize on May 3 to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, said Malee Choklumlerd, director-general of International Trade Promotion Department. Ms Malee said the ‘SOS by Thaitrade.com’ sailed through the semi-final round of the WSIS Prize 2016 organised by the UN International Telecommunication Union after the project was considered a beneficial information technology to the society and to the international community during the competition held between February 6-March 10. All the five finalists selected by worldwide voted will be now judged at WSIS Forum by global information and technology experts and only one of them will clinch the first prize, she said. The ‘SOS by Thaitrade.com’ has been one of the outstanding projects which the International Trade Promotion Department is proud of providing service presently, Ms Malee added. She said the winner of the competition will be announced May 3 during the WSIS Forum 2016 function to be held between May 2- 6 in Geneva. (TNA)
