113 Foreign Businessmen Invest in Thailand During 2015 First Quarter

BANGKOK, March 22 (TNA) - A total of 113 foreigners have been allowed to invest in Thailand during the first quarter of 2015 with combined investment of 3.76 billion baht and some 1,000 Thais were employed, said Pongpan Jiarawiriyapan, director-general of the Business Development Department. Compared to the corresponding period of 2014, 140 foreign investors were given the green light to invest in the kingdom with combined investment of 2.71 billion baht, Ms. Pongpan said. In March this year alone, 38 foreign businessmen were allowed to set up businesses in Thailand with combined investment of 1.28 billion baht and 322 Thais were employed, she said. Most of the foreign businessmen who received the approval to invest in the kingdom were Japanese, South Koreans, Malaysians, Singaporeans, Chinese, Taiwanese, French, Danish, Italians, British, Americans, Australians and Finnish.
