2017 Paris Air Show To See Several Collaborative Measures Between Malaysian, International Aerospace Players
KUALA LUMPUR, June 21 (Bernama) -- The International Paris Air Show, which begins from June 19 to 25, 2017, is expected to see several collaborative measures being undertaken by Malaysian and international aerospace players.
In a statement issued from Paris on Tuesday, the Malaysian Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) said, the measures would encompass various verticals from manufacturing; maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO); research and technology (R&T), to human capital development.
"This year’s air show will witness partnerships formed between Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd (MAHB) and Gyeongnam Techno Park, a South Korean global technology hub in the development of Subang Aerotech Park.
"The park will be focusing on manufacturing (aero structures, components, tools and jigs) and MRO for aero-engine and components," it said.
Besides, it said, MAHB would also partner with Denmark-based Skyways Technics to facilitate the latter's expansion plan within the Malaysia Airports' aerospace ecosystem spanning Subang and Kuala Lumpur International Airport Aeropolis.
On the R&T and human capital development, MITI said, a tripartite Letter of Intent between Aerospace Malaysia Innovation Centre with Airbus and France’s Ministry of National Education was also inked during the week-long event.
"The three parties have agreed to collaborate in developing new and innovative methods for training of aerospace engineers and blue-collar workers in Malaysia," it said.
Apart from that, it said, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Malaysian Aerospace Industry Association and Taiwan Aerospace Industry Association was also be signed during the event.
"The MoU is to foster collaboration on capabilities and business opportunities, facilitate interaction for industry development," it said.
