About business organizations in Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the first quarter of this year, a list of entities and organizations registered 116.9 thousand enterprises and organizations, where 60.5 thousand, or 51.8%, are still carrying out their activities in Mongolia. A majority of the institutions (37.6 thousand or 62.2%) are registered in the capital city, 7.6 thousand (12.5%)--in the central region, 6.8 thousand (11.3%)--in Khangai region, 5.8 thousand (9.6%)--in the western region, and 2.7 thousand (4.4%)--in the eastern. Some 85 percent of the active enterprises and organizations employ 1-9 workers, 6.5%--10-19 workers, 5.2%--20-49 workers, and three percent--over 50 workers. There are 56.4 thousand non-active enterprises. Some 16 thousand of them (29.8%) have not begun the business yet, 34.7 thousand (61.5%) has temporarily stopped, 1.8 thousand (3.1%)--permanently stopped, and 3.2 thousand (5.6%)--have unclear addresses/other reasons.
