Afghanistan Keen To Invest In Iran

Chabahar, Sistan and Baluchestan prov, July 23, IRNA - Afghan Ambassador to Tehran Nasir Ahmad Nour said on Tuesday the Afghan government is interested in making investment in Irans mines and oil and gas sectors. The Afghan diplomat made the remarks during his visit to Chabahar port in this southeastern province. He expressed hope that the two countries would make use of religious, cultural and lingual commonalities to develop economic cooperation. Ahmad Nour also described Chabahar port as a best route to transfer goods between Iran and Afghanistan. On July 13, Afghan envoy stated that his country imported some dlrs 5.5 billion worth of oil and non-oil commodities from Iran during the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2013). Describing Iran-Afghanistan trade transactions as growing, he said Kabul is interested in making investments in Chabahar free trade zone./end
