Ahmadinejad Invites His Chinese Counterpart To Visit Iran

Beijing, May 9, IRNA – Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has invited his Chinese counterpart President Hu Jintao to visit Iran to attend the upcoming Non-Aligned Movement summit meeting in Tehran. President Ahmadinejad's invitation message was delivered by Iran’s Vice-President Mohammad Javad Mohammadizadeh to a senior official at the Communist Party of China He Guoqiang on Wednesday. The 16th NAM summit meeting is to be held in Tehran late summer. Visiting Mohammadizadeh, who is also Head of Iran’s Department of Environment, conferred with Guoqiang on various international, regional and bilateral issues. Referring to Tehran-Beijing strategic ties, the Iranian envoy called for fostering bilateral cooperation, particularly in the area of economy. Iran’s vice-president, heading a delegation, arrived in Beijing Monday afternoon. During his stay, Mohammadizadeh has inked several agreements on bilateral cooperation with the Chinese side.
