Air Operator’s Certificates issued for Asia Atlantic Airlines
BANGKOK, Jan 22 (TNA) – The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) issued the Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) for Asia Atlantics Airlines in compliance with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO)’s regulations.
It is the 14th airline, receiving the new certificate from the ICAO and the first of this year.
Chula Sukmanop, director-general of the CAAT office said the airline operates flights on Japan and South Korea routes in cooperation with Asia’s leading tour agencies.
Although the number of tourists from these two countries is not as much as those from China, the figure from the Tourism and Sports Ministry showed that more than 3.2 million tourists from South Korea and Japan traveled to Thailand in 2017, increased by 350,000 people from the previous year.
Despite the removal of the red flag, imposed on Thailand’s aviation sector in 2015 by the ICAO, he said CAAT would continue to upgrade the country’s aviation regulatory standards to be recognized internally by 2020.
One of the CAAT’s missions is to issue the new AOCs to Thai airlines, operating inundatal routes. (TNA)
