Almost 1m jobs to be created at Thailand's EEC Project
BANGKOK, February 15 (TNA) - It is likely that a total of almost one million jobs will be created at the Thai government-supported Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Project by 2030.
Kanit Sangsubhan, Secretary General of the EEC Policy Committee Board, told journalists of the projected figure on Friday, after a meeting of the EEC Policy Committee Board in Bangkok, chaired by Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha.
Kanit noted that the projection of new jobs to be created at Thailand's EEC Project over the next 12 years was based on a key condition that the investment in its 10 targeted industrial sectors would go well as officially planned.
Kanit said Thai prime minister has, thus, ordered all relevant agencies to work together to produce and develop personnel to sufficiently meet the demands of the 10 targeted industrial sectors, covering their well-planned cooperation with Thai and foreign partners that specialize in advanced education and vocational training, as well as in digital and innovative technologies.
According to the senior official, the relevant agencies include his EEC Office, the Office of the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI), the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society. (TNA)
