"Amazing Thailand, Go for More" campaign to be launched in 2019
BANGKOK, December 18 (TNA) - The state-run Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will launch the "Amazing Thailand, Go for More" campaign in 2019, aimed to invite and encourage Thai and foreign tourists to have their "local experiences" personally and more deeply of traditional and unique lifestyles, culture and wisdom of people in different communities in all Thai regions.
TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn told journalists of the new "Amazing Thailand" campaign on Tuesday, aimed also to promote more Thai tourist areas, some 55 more, that have not yet been widely known by international visitors.
According to the TAT governor, his office has targeted that Thailand's tourism-related revenues should reach 1.18 trillion baht next year, a 10.4 per cent year-on-year increase, stimulated partly by the new "Amazing Thailand" campaign, under which Thais are also encouraged to have their "local experiences" to help promote and boost the domestic tourism.
The TAT governor, meanwhile, estimated that the Thai Kingdom should earn about 17 billion baht tourism-related revenues during the upcoming New Year holidays, from December 29, 2018 to January 1, 2019, when the number of Thai travellers nationwide should reach 2.7 million and the number of foreign tourists should be about 520,000.
