AmCham to host webinar with Bahrain Tender Board on ‘How to Do Business with the Government of Bahrain’

Manama, Feb. 20 (BNA): The American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain (AmCham Bahrain) will host a webinar on “How to do Business with the Bahrain Government – an Update from the Bahrain Tender Board” on February 23 from 3 to 4 pm. BTB will cover the role of the Tender Board in issuing and executing government tenders, the steps to register, submit and execute a bid, how to pre-qualify, opportunities for SMEs, and the role of the US-Bahrain FTA, among other topics, as well as, attend to audience questions. To register or get more information go to: www.amchambahrain.org The BTB reported that 1,034 tenders and auctions were opened by BTB during 2019, with an estimated value of BD 1,847 billion. The total number of bids submitted for these tenders and auctions reached 5,418 bids. Everything from building massive infrastructure projects to providing office supplies, and everything in between are acquired through government contracts with local and global businesses. “We appreciate the BTB taking the time to provide information to our members and the business community,” AmCham Bahrain President Qays H. Zu’bi said. “Changes have occurred in the BTB process in the last year as they have transferred their work online and expanded their services to provide increased transparency and ease of doing business. These initiatives are aimed at providing technical support and advice to small and medium-sized enterprises and increase the competitiveness of these enterprises in order to participate in government tenders.” The program is part of AmCham’s ongoing series of “How to Do Business with…” which has included topics covering the U.S. Government and the U.S. Navy providing practical information for companies of all sizes and sectors interested in being a prime contractor or subcontractor for government procurement or service work. AmCham Bahrain offers a forum for the exchange of information and ideas, the development of professional networks, and advocacy support for promoting solutions to issues that impact business.
