Aviation leaders gather for BIAS 2018 Airport Conference

Manama, Nov. 15 (BNA): This year’s Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) Airport Conference was the most successful in the series to date with more than 50 aviation leaders in attendance. Hosted by Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Engineer Kamal Bin Ahmed Mohamed, the conference brought together senior decision makers from leading regional airlines and airports to discuss the latest issues shaping the region’s aviation sector. HE the Minister said: "The expert panelists provided valuable insight into the region’s rapidly-growing aviation market, highlighting how ongoing airport expansion projects and new technologies are positioning Middle East hubs alongside the best facilities in the world. While there are certainly challenges ahead for the aviation industry, both regionally and internationally, conferences such as this provide a valuable platform for sharing knowledge and best practices that will help us to collectively prosper." The conference, titled, ‘Into the Future: Challenges and Opportunities for Gulf Region Airports and Airlines’ featured among its panellists BAC Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah; Oman Airports Management Company Chief Executive Officer, Aimen bin Ahmed Al Hosani; Boeing Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey President, Bernard Dunn; and Director of KPI, Waleed Youssef. Professor Rigas Doganis, a leading aviation consultant and strategic advisor to a number of airlines, airports, banks, and governments around the world, moderated the event.
