BAE Systems Enjoys Greater KL's Robust Talent Pool, Well-Developed Infrastructure
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 6 (Bernama) -- UK-based BAE Systems' success in Malaysia is supported by the availability of skilled talent, excellent infrastructure and competitive business costs within the Greater Kuala Lumpur.
In stating this, BAE Systems' Global Engineering Centre Malaysia General Manager Rishe Ramasamay said the number of staff had grown to over 350 people from less than 100 since the setting up of the centre in 2013.
"We are continuously growing," he said in a statement Tuesday, following a visit by InvestKL Chief Executive Officer Zainal Amanshah and his team to the centre here to discuss how BAE Systems can further leverage the talent as well as government's support and commitment.
The visit was in line with InvestKL's ongoing commitment to attract global multinationals in the fields of business services, engineering and Internet-of-Things (IOT) to Malaysia.
During the meeting, BAE Systems' team also shared their experience and thoughts on Greater Kuala Lumpur's potential as a global hub for cyber security services and related industries.
These industries include oil and gas, consumer goods and the supply chain sector.
"Today, we are a world-class hub focused on the local delivery and support of the company's cyber and financial crime detection and management services, delivered by Malaysians for Malaysia and the rest of the world," Rishe said.
The advanced technology defence, aerospace and security solutions provider has been supporting local businesses and the Armed Forces for over 30 years from its regional headquarters here.
Meanwhile, Zainal noted that BAE Systems' success in the region was a testament to the wealth of opportunities available to MNCs in Greater Kuala Lumpur.
He said their success was shared with Malaysians who benefitted from the creation of high-value and high-income jobs in exciting, new specialised fields like cyber security and engineering.
