Bahrain emerges as ideal destination for micro, SMEs

By Nayla Barakat Manama, June 28 (BNA): Bahrain has emerged as an ideal workplace for the micro and the small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) thanks for the excellent infrastructure and the necessary support for the SMEs to flourish. Dr Hassan Al Dairi, the Chairman of the Bahrain SMEs Society, told Bahrain News Agency (BNA) that the SME Society has been holding the conference on an annual basis without any interruption. “The major interruptions like pandemic have not deterred the SMEs Society for hosting the Conference as per the schedule," said on the sidelines of the two-day 10th Annual UN (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Conference 2022 opening ceremony. "Though the last two years were slightly different as we had virtual events and this year, we have hybrid events both in person and over 17,000 members are taking part from the various parts of the world,” he said. The participants will attend various segments including the Youth Entrepreneurship Forum, University President Forum, and the Businesswomen Forum. The Ambassadors Forum will be another highlight in which Malaysian, Korean and U.S. envoys will address the audience while touching upon the especially important topics. Dr. Al Dairi said the event has so far achieved excellence and next year's conference will be outside Bahrain and the name of the country will come on the concluding day.
