Bahrain exports of national origin increase by 85%

Manama, Nov. 16 (BNA): Bahrain’s value of exports of national origin increased by 85% to BD366 million during October 2021, up from BD198 million in October last year, the Information &eGovernment Authority (iGA) said. The foreign trade report of October 2021 encompasses data on the balance of trade, imports, exports (national origin), and re-exports. The top 10 countries in terms of the value of exports of national origin purchased from Bahrain accounted for 67% of the total value, with the remaining countries accounting for 33%. Saudi Arabia ranked first among countries receiving Bahraini exports of national origin, importing BD53 million from Bahrain. The United Arab Emirate was second with BD37 million and the United States third with BD33 million. Unwrought aluminum alloys emerged as the top products exported during October 2021 with BD101 million. Agglomerated iron ores and concentrates alloyed was second with a value of BD60 million and semi-finished iron and steel third with BD 26million. According to the report, the total value of re-exports increased by 1% to reach BD57.3 million during October 2021, up from BD56.6 million in October 2020. The top 10 countries accounted for 87% of the re-exported value, while the remaining countries accounted for the 13%. The United Arab Emirate ranked first with BD17 million, Saudi Arabia second with BD11 million, and Singapore third with BD6 million. Gold ingots the top product re-exported from Bahrain with BD9.5 million, parts for airplanes came in second place with BD8.8 million, and Four-wheel drive cars came third with BD3.6 million. The value of imports increased by 24%, reaching BD452 million during October 2021 compared to BD365 million for the same month of the previous year. The top 10 countries accounted for 73% of the value of imports, with the remaining countries accounting for 27%. According to the report, Brazil ranked first when it came to imports to Bahrain, with a total of BD61 million, China was second with BD56 million, and Australia was third with BD54 million. Non-agglomerated iron ores and concentrates emerged as the top product imported into Bahrain with a total value of BD75 million, while Aluminum oxide was second with BD48 million, and gold ingots third with BD10 million. The trade balance, difference between exports and imports, the value of the deficit of the trade balance reached BD29 million during October of 2021 versus BD111 million for the same month of the previous year with decrease of 74%.
