Bahrain signs deals with major firms

Manama, June 18 (BNA): Agreements were signed with twelve major international firms which will participate in the in the Bahrain International Air Show (BIAS 2020). Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Deputy President of BIAS High Organising Committee, Kamel bin Ahmed Mohammed is attending the International Paris Air Show - SIAE Le Bourget 2019, hosted by France on June 17-23 in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron. Sakhir Airbase Commander, BIAS High Organising Committee member, Major-General Mohammed bin Bahussein, attended the signing ceremony on the sidelines of the opening of the Paris Air Show - SIAE Le Bourget 2019. The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications issued a press statement, announcing the international firms which confirmed their participation in the exhibition, set to be held on November 18-20, 2020. The list includes Lockheed Martin, Thales, CFM International, Bell Helicopter – Textron, Rolls Royce, Airbus, Gulfstream, Boeing, Leonardo and Gulf Air. Other local firms will also take part in BIAS2020, including Bahrain Airport Services (BAS), DHL and Texel Air. The minister stressed Bahrain’s keenness on developing cooperation in the field of civil aviation with other leading countries. He underlined the directives of and support of HM the King’s Personal Representative, BIAS President, His Highness Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Khalifa to develop the sector of air aviation in Bahrain. He hailed the success of the five previous editions, stressing the positive impact of the exhibition in spurring economic growth, attracting major international firms specialized in aviation industry.
