Bahrain, South Africa set to stimulate trade cooperation

Manama, Mar. 10 (BNA): Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Chairman Sameer Abdullah Nass has called for bolstering business and commercial relations with South Africa.
BCCI is keen on elevating the status of the partnerships between the business sectors in the two countries, and on coordinating with all relevant official bodies to develop economic relations, he said as he received South Africa's Ambassador to Bahrain – based in Riyadh, C T Rubushe.
Nass pointed to the need to activate commercial relations and stimulate partnerships with countries to overcome the economic stagnation that affected the globe because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He stressed the role of the private sector, the business community and its representatives in revitalizing the economy by exploring new commercial and investment opportunities and creating effective partnerships.
Rubushe praised the rapid development in Bahrain and the prestigious position it is taking thanks to the long-term vision of the leadership of His Majesty the King and the efforts of Bahrainis, as well as its good relations with other countries.
He expressed his country's aspiration to strengthen economic cooperation with Bahrain and stressed the embassy’s readiness to cooperate with the BCCI to contribute to increasing the volume of investments and trade exchanges and achieving common goals.
The volume of trade between the two countries reached $76 million in 2020.
