Bangkok Int'l Motor Show 2015 set March 25-April 5

BANGKOK, March 24 (TNA) - International visitors are welcome to the 36th Bangkok International Motor Show, set to be held at the IMPACT Trade and Exhibition Center in Muang Thong Thani on the outskirts of Bangkok from March 25-April 5, 2015. Surapong Paisitpattanapong, Spokesman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI)'s Automotive Industry Club, told journalists on Tuesday that he hopes this year's Bangkok International Motor Show should help stimulate domestic sales of automobiles. The spokesman acknowledged that domestic sales of automobiles stood at 123,669 units during the first two months of this year, a drop by 11.8 per cent year-on-year, although Thailand's auto exports during the same period stood at 200,613 units, a 12.58 per cent year-on-year increase, with their total export value amounting to 88.71 billion baht, up by 6.25 per cent year-on-year. The spokesman partly attributed Thailand's rising exports of automobiles to market recovery in Australia. According to the spokesman, more exports of locally-produced eco cars to Europe and to all parts of America have also help boosted Thailand's overall auto exports since early this year. Meanwhile, the organizer of the 36th Bangkok International Motor Show foresaw this year's 12-day event should attract about 1.5 million international visitors and generate about 90 billion revenues, comparable to last year.
