BAS obtains ISO 27001 renewal

Manama, Feb. 24 (BNA): Bahrain Airport Service (BAS) has passed and obtained renewal of its ISO/IEC 27001 surveillance audit, the international standard outlining best practices for data security management systems. The management system was inspected by TUV InterCert, a certification body for management systems accredited through TGA/DAR, the German Accreditation Board. Ahmed Al Shehabi, senior manager for Info & Communication Technology, said: "ISO 27001 certified organizations are scrutinized by an independent auditor every year to confirm their continued discipline and commitment towards information security". He said BAS demonstrated full commitment to a repeatable, continuously improving, risk-based security programme to ensure the continues excellence in the level of service provided to its customers and Bahrain International Airport. He also said business continuity and data security in the dynamic air travel industry is of utmost importance, and at BAS we spare no effort to make sure that we are not only secured, but also recognized internationally by the best of standards. We are moving towards an era of change with the new terminal and BAS is ready for the new challenges ahead.
