BAS offers BIAS2018 ground handling services

Manama, Nov. 6 (BNA): Bahrain Airport Services Company (BAS) has announced that it will be the official ground handler provider for the Bahrain International Airshow 2018, which will be held from 14 to 17 November at Sakhir Air Base. Salman Al-Mahmmed CEO said: "Since the launch of the Bahrain International Airshow in its first edition in 2012, BAS has taken upon itself to activate its national role in the success of this global event, which attracts airlines and industries to the Kingdom". He praised the role and guidance of the Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the Airshow, the personal representative of His Majesty the King, Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, which establishes a unique movement that supports Bahrain's economic vision in diversifying sources of income and attracting foreign investment. He also thanked Minister of Transportation and Communications Minister Kamal bin Ahmed for his clear role in the success of this event, which is expressed through his keenness to support national companies operating in the aviation and logistics sectors. He added: "In the current version of the show, BAS provides handling services to about 80 aircraft for regional and international airlines, ranging from commercial aircraft, passenger aircraft and militaries aircraft. BAS provides a range of integrated services for participants including ground handling, equipment, GSE, catering, engineering, cleaning, and operations support". He also noted that about 140 BAS staff are participating in the Bahrain International Air Show, while the company continues to provide the highest quality of ground services at Bahrain International Airport and is the only airport provider since it was established as the first international airport in the Gulf region Arabic. He pointed out that the company also provides ground handling services to more than 42,000 flights per year and handles more than 8.5 million passengers annually, with the capacity to receive more business in conjunction with the expansion of Bahrain International Airport.
