BAS trains Saudi youth

Manama, Nov. 28 (BNA): Bahrain Airport Services Company (BAS) has begun training the first batch of Saudi students on specialised courses in the field of safety systems management and human factors, with the aim of providing them with the skills to join the labour market of Saudi Shipping Company Limited.
BAS and Middle East Logistics High Institute for Training in Saudi Arabia agreement aims to train 280 young Saudis by 2020 in cargo. The trainees are divided into several batches in Dammam, Riyadh and Jeddah. BAS’s role includes training, education and the use of its expertise in airport services. The project is being implemented in strategic partnership with the National Training Centre for Facilities Management and Hospitality.
CEO of BAS Salman Al-Mahmeed praised the content and idea of cooperation between the two parties.
He added that BAS has exported its experience of more than 40 years in airport services, and it has previously cooperated with international companies to provide services at Jeddah and Muscat airports.
"Our strategy is to diversify our business, reducing the risk of seasonal aviation, and we are looking forward to expanding our operations in the Gulf Arab region and Asia Minor,” he said
