BBWS, Thattai Hindu Merchants Community sign agreement

Manama, May 12 (BNA): Bahraini Businesswomen Society (BBWS) and the Thattai Hindu Merchants Community (THMC) have signed a cooperation agreement in order to achieve common economic objectives, to develop businesses within the national economy and their members in accordance with the laws. The agreement is an important step in enhancing economic relations between the Indian private business sector and the Bahraini businesswomen, in light of the political, social and cultural rapprochement between the two friendly countries. The agreement was signed by Ahlam Janahi, BBWS’s President and Bob Thaker, THMC’s president. Both associations said the agreement was "a very positive step to build bridges of cooperation with important economic sectors in the market" and noted that it can result in "constructive and progressive development for all members" and in "developing the role of enterprises that are common in serving the national economy." Under the agreement, the two parties will encourage cooperation and work to facilitate their work to achieve their common economic objectives. They will also participate in the expertise and experience of entrepreneurship and exchange in support of emerging institutions and benefit from incubators to achieve the objective of this convention and coordinate between them to expand the network of business contacts in order to cooperate in terms of trade and business exchange. The agreement will facilitate joint research and training programmes and boost cooperation in the fields of organising training and qualification courses for business leaders, providing advice and needs for them and increasing their capacities to enter the market and compete. It will also promote the culture of entrepreneurship and creativity for women in Bahrain and provide supporting programmes to empower women to develop their skills for their businesses. Established in 2000, BBWS was the first business society in the Arabian Gulf region. THMC was created in the early 1940s to strengthen the Bhatia Business community and provide a platform for businessmen to address challenges facing them.
