BOGOR ADMINISTRATION ESTABLISHES BILATERAL COOPERATION WITH CHINA

Cibinong, W Java, May 12 (Antara) - The administration of Bogor district, West Java, and the administration of Nanning city, China, are establishing bilateral cooperation by signing a letter of intent (LOI) in education, sports, and tourism sectors. "The LOI will help realize the sister city cooperation between Bogor and Nanning. Earlier, both administrations had signed a cooperation agreement," Administrative Head of Bogor district Nurhayanti stated here, Monday. She affirmed that the sister city cooperation included the development of the local economy, investment, and the management of environment and infrastructure. Meanwhile, the sister city agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in education, sports, tourism, and some other fields that have been agreed by both administrations. Nurhayanti said the communication between the Bogor and Nanning administrations is intensive, and therefore, it is expected that the cooperation will promote Bogor's tourism, arts and culture to the Chinese, and vice versa. "With this exchange program, I hope it will be beneficial for both countries," Nurhayanti emphasized. She elaborated that cooperation in the field of education encompasses school partnership, setting the international curriculum, and organizing examinations for the students graduating from partner schools. In the field of sports, training will be imparted through an exchange program for athletes and coaches. According to Deputy Mayor of Nanning Guo Min, the sister city program will strengthen the relationship between both countries and improve the quality of human resources, especially in the fields outlined in the cooperation. "We should cooperate as we are sister cities," she noted. Min stated that the administration will grant scholarships to Bogor district's students to study in Nanning. In addition, she also invited the Bogor administration to the international Expo in Nanning.
