Chiang Mai airport named top 3 for excellent service
CHIANG MAI, March 8 (TNA) -- Thailand's Chiang Mai Airport in the northern province of Chiang Mai was named as the world third best for Airport Service Quality (ASQ).
President of Airport of Thailand (AOT) Nitinai Sirismatthakarn said that the Chiang Mai Airport, which is one of the six airports operated by AOT, has been named the world's number 3 for best ASQ for airports with passenger capacity of 5-15 million per year, from the total of 82 airports which have participated the programme.
Mr Nitinai said that by being as chosen as the third best for the 2016 ASQ Awards, this is considered as AOT's proud success, resulting from continuous physical improvements and potential development on all service sectors at the airport through support from concerned local agencies, airlines, and entrepreneurs.
The ASQ programme organised by the Airport Council International (ACI) is the only worldwide questionnaire used to survey the satisfaction of passengers on airport services in 34 categories, such as logistics, immigration, shopping, restaurants, cleanliness, and airport atmosphere.
The recent award, said the AOT president, showed that the Chiang Mai Airport has an efficient management process leading to quality services which impressed passengers.
AOT has registered the Chiang Mai Airport into the programme since 2011, where the airport was ranked the number 4 best world airport for the airport capacity of 2-5 million passengers for two consecutive years. (TNA)
