Chicken Cottage To Open 350 Outlets Worldwide

KUALA TERENGGANU (Terengganu, Malaysia) Dec 17 (Bernama) -- Chicken Cottage (M) Sdn Bhd, owned by TI Global Food Holdings Ltd, a subsidiary of Terengganu Inc Sdn Bhd (Terengganu Inc), aimed to open 350 outlets worldwide in the next five years. Chief Minister Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman, said last year, the state government, via Terengganu Inc, had acquired the majority stake in Chicken Cottage. "The opening of the 103th outlet here today will involve several changes, including having a new corporate identity, logo and interior decoration where future outlets will be based," he said. Ahmad Razif said this to reporters after the opening of the outlet in Tok Pelam Farm here Thursday. He said Chicken Cottage would spur competition in the fast-food industry offer jobs for 30-50 individuals at each outlet. "To-date, many people have applied for our franchise to run the outlets in many main towns, among them Selangor-Kuala Lumpur and Johor-Singapore," he said. Ahmad Razif said the state government was in talks with the Saudi Arabian government to open Chicken Cottage branches in Mecca and Medina and expand operations there. Meanwhile, Global IT Services Management Ltd's Acting Managing Director, Khalizan Mahmud, said Chicken Cottage offered more choices to the public, especially to fast-food enthusiasts, to enjoy tasty and halal food at reasonable prices. He said TI Global Food was currently in the process of penetrating markets in India, China and South-East Asia with new branches to be opened next year in United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. For the six months of this year, TI Global Food Holdings Ltd as the Chicken Cottage brand holder, recorded revenue of US$1.5 million (RM6.7 million) with pre-tax profit of RM1 million.
